Perched near the highest mountain in Thailand, near Chang Mai, are the King and Queen pagodas, in Doi Inthanon, with beautiful gardens, tiered with both stone and also landscaped with old Thai railway sleepers. The Thai Army built these temples as a  a 60th birthday present for the King and Queen in 1987 and 1992
