The American Adventure Theme Park is based at Shipley, near Ilkeston, in Nottingshire. Built on the site of a dissused colliery, it is brilliant for children between the ages of 3 and 14. Not quite Alton Towers, but still a fun day out, with very little queuing. Beats waiting 1.5 hours to get on the latest Alton Towers ride! The fort is near the rapids ride (great wet fun) and uses hundreds of poles in a 'wild west' tradition.

A great example of log cabin building, to create a whole fort compound, in the simplest yet most exciting of ways, that will capture every child's imagination, of days gone by.
