I'm wanting to create something like this in my garden. I took the photo while out walking in Derbyshire - so far as I can gather, it is part of the grounds of a 16th Century Manor House - part of the Haddon Estate at Stanton Woodhouse.
Thank you for the photo. A wonderful example of railway sleepers being used to create a classic, multi-tiered formal garden that looks so impressive and comfortable in the setting of a 16th century period house. Reminiscent of a classic knot garden. Mind you, railway sleepers can equally be used to great effect in a modern architectural setting, so you will have lots of possibilities in the garden you are planning to design. Enjoy the creation, and send us photos!
