Subocean's barge project using railway sleepers

Please receive the attached photos of the railway sleepers (160) being used to spread the load of our 300 tonne crawler crane onboard the construction barge UR 101

Kind Regards

Assistant Project Manager

Our additional requriement for the consignement of the sleepers is to protect the steel deck of the barge when we recover our subsea cable plough back to deck when we complete the cable installation work. The cable plough weighs 28 tonnes and cuts through the seabed with the grey coloured share as seen in the photographs. The share tip is extremely sharp and has already caused some damage to the deck due to the large weight concentrated between it and the deck. We intend to lay the sleepers two thick to provide a buffer and prevent piercing the deck.

Thanks for the great photos. What mind boggling massive weights are involved in working to recover the cable plough and protecting the barge deck !
