There's something very original and eye-catching about creating a garden raised bed that has crenellated heights, like a tiny fortified castle wall. Even more satisfying when it imaginatively curves around the garden. A very attractive and imaginative retaining wall, helped by using shorter length railway sleepers that are already cut to size. Perfectly built and looking beautiful now it's fully planted.

In the corner of the railway sleeper yard there is a colony of honey bees in the middle of an old Ash tree. We all happily co-exist, as we move around in our yellow forklifts, which they sometimes mistake for an amazing giant sunflower. Once or twice a year, when the bee population increases inside the tree trunk, the old Queen bee gathers together about half of the hive's worker bees, (up to 25,000 bees) and leaves to find a new home (a swarm). They usually hang around in a cluster until the scout bees decide on a new home. This year we encouraged them into a new hive, which we placed on top of the pack of railway sleepers, with an incentive of some beeswax inside. Good customer relations!

What a wonderfully crafted patio, pond and table with new railway sleepers. I love your overall design with the perfect connection of different levels and materials that provide a beautiful space to sit and relax in. The glass side to the pond is especially eye catching. Very impressive.

Curved walls and raised beds made from vertically placed tropical hardwood railway sleepers have such attractive lines, and designing the garden with two parallel tiers almost doubles the eye catching effect! Very satisfying.

All credit to the amazing transformation that you've made. Looking at the 'before' and 'after' photos, you can't help but be impressed by the dramatic changes as your stylish looking patio and planters rise out of the unruly hedge end of your garden. The solid new pine railway sleepers create a bold and attractive edging to the beautifully paved area, and the two raised corner planters round it all off perfectly. Time to rest and enjoy your hard work. Looks like someone is already!
