Dave the Dog creates Throne Masterpiece from Railway Sleepers

Dave the Dog created this amazing railway sleeper 'throne' inspired by the unique furniture of Charles Rennie Macintosh (1868 - 1928).  Attempting to follow in the footsteps of this legend designer, Dave applied to the Glasgow School of Art, but failed to gain admittance due to the discriminatory 'no dogs' policy. Despite this painful setback he pursued a sucessful and unique artistic career specialising in simple, robust and chunky designs that were uncomplicated and 'honest' in their strength and presence. The extra long back on the railway sleeper 'throne' chair is a particularly touching tribute to Dave's life long inspiration - Macintosh - and is to be exhibited at the Tate Gallery.
