Elizabeth's beautiful raised beds from old weathered railway sleepers

Thanks to Elizabeth for the wonderful pictures of her raised beds that she created from the old railway sleepers. They are brimming over with gorgeous plants in such a beautiful setting and the weathered reclaimed railway sleepers give the impression that they have been there for ever.

NICK'S STUNNING RAILWAY SLEEPER SCULPTURES

NICK'S STUNNING RAILWAY SLEEPER SCULPTURES

Over the years I have experienced and enjoyed thousands of railway sleeper projects all over the world from humble vegetable raised beds, to ambitious landscaping transformations. Dramatic railway sleeper steps in New Zealand mountains. Eye catching railway sleeper walls clinging to valleys around temples in Thailand. Humble railway sleeper houses in southern Chile. Quirky and humerous railway sleeper signs in western Australia. So many unique and precious designs that lift the heart or bring a smile to your face. And Nick's wonderful railway sleeper sculptures add to that amazing world of railway sleeper creations. They are dramatic, stunning, inventive and playful. Solid yet etherial. Other worldly yet concretely practical. Wonderful.

It's wonderful to see the start to finish photos of the process that Mark goes through in his wood turning. You only have to read the glowing reviews on Etsy to see how much he is appreciated and his creations are valued. Not only for his skill and imagination, but also for his generosity in supporting a crucial homeless charity.

JOAN'S WONDERFUL SET OF RAILWAY SLEEPER PROJECTS

Many thanks to Joan for her excellent set of photos showing her various railway sleeper projects as they were constructed. A brilliant collection of creations that are wonderful in different ways. The gentle raised beds give the impression of having comfortably existed in the garden for decades - the sign of sensitive landscaping at it's best. The railway sleeper deck is like a little wooden island to relax on, and the wooden slices of railway sleeper offcuts beautifully create a unique pinky red tiled floor. All in all, a definite triumph!

From wilderness to a thing of beauty. Graham's transformation with railway sleepers.

FROM WILDERNESS TO A THING OF BEAUTY
All credit to Graham for such a wonderful change. It seems almost miraculous when an untidy wilderness is suddenly transformed into a pristine landscaped garden with railway sleepers. Of course, such magic doesn't take place without a great deal of hard work, struggle and design, yet it still appears equally amazing.
