Here are some pictures of a railway sleeper wall we inherited in our garden. Are they old railway sleepers? 
It looks like there are some splits in the wood. Any suggestions on how best to maintain please, or anything we should apply? Or do you think it looks OK and that is the beauty of them!  Sharon
