Trish Larcombe's railway sleeper raised beds & deck

Just thought I would send you pictures of my project. Needless to say the right tools for the job made all the difference and I am glad I researched the right tools and fixings.  All cut ends of the railway sleepers were soaked in wood preserver and when dry all surfaces were treated with decking oil to give a good finish.

Vegetable bed - 2.6mx1.3m built into existing decking. Hubby took up an area of planks and helped me put the 2.6m railway sleepers into place

Privacy screen and beds - 1.2mx 600 mm.  Was looking for Diamond trellising but it was so expensive  I saw on the Internet pictures of 'contemporary trellising' thought I would give it a go and I am impressed with the result at a cost of just under £50 for all 3!

Chuffed to bits with the end product.  Thank you again for such a good service and advice and keep up the good work.

Regards

Trish Larcombe

RailwaySleepers.com Says..

Many thanks for sharing your fantastic railway sleeper project, with invaluable descriptions of the process you went through, and attaching brilliant stage by stage photos of your handywork. Really useful for others to see the steps you went through. A really impressive landscaping creation, in two different locations in your garden. The privacy screen and raised bed is a brilliant way of making the garden less overlooked, yet creating more growing space at the same time. No wonder you're chuffed!
