'Granny's Garden'. Vikki & Reuben's railway sleeper raised beds
Having moved into our first home, we were keen to give our garden some life. Neither of us are experienced gardeners, but we took on the challenge of building a railway sleeper raised bed with the hope to grow some of our own fruit and veg. Once we had designed it with the help from Railway Sleepers Ltd, we ordered New British Pine railway sleepers in three different lengths to avoid having to cut them to size.
One afternoon we dug out the border ready for our railway sleeper delivery, making sure the ground was flat. Once they arrived we unloaded them from the lorry into the garden and started building our raised bed. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing the project come together as it really transformed our garden. We are excited to start planting our fruit and veg, something we know Granny would have loved.... our inspiration for the project.
