"If there is a space - fill it" - Karen's new raised garden bed from tropical hardwood railway sleepers

Please see attached photographs of my new raised bed in the front garden which is an addition to the others built last September by R S Landscapes.
(See 'Front garden Transformation etc' on the Projects page.)
The railway sleepers used are untreated tropical hardwood, grade 1-2.
Sizes used: 2 x 900mm & 2 x 300mm x 300mm x 125mm (approx).
Fastened together with 200mm Timberlok screws.
Built on my own in late Winter 2020 with the help of garden forks to keep the railway sleepers in position whilst screwing together with Timberlok screws.

Many thanks, Karen, for the excellent photos of your railway sleepers. Yes, it's a popular saying that is shared by many gardeners! Lawns are gradually nibbled away by the additions of endless planting areas, veg plots and railway sleeper raised beds, until the main grass area has been reduced to narrow walkways between the herbacious borders! It's the unstoppable and exciting natural progression of creating more and more growing areas. Of course, there may be objections to this. What is this obsession (by mainly men) to have large striped lawns, as though they were recreating Wimbledon, Wembley or a croquet lawn? I'm sure it's connected to the power and excitement of turbo lawnmower gadgetry!
