Raised vegetable beds - from new softwood railway sleepers

Here are some pictures of the railway sleeper vegetable beds we constructed for my mother. It took two of us about one & a half days. The work was quite tiring (not used to digging!) & involved mainly soil removal, moving & levelling of the railway sleepers, rather than the actual cutting and fixing which was relatively quick and simple.

A wonderful collection of pictures & information. A great example of multi-shaped railway sleeper raised beds that reduce bending down, & can be easily heightened as age progresses.
