Within Staffordshire lies a tiny village with an abundance of horticultural jewels on a quarter of an acre plot. The cottage garden is long and narrow with continuous borders on either side, island beds and a pine railway sleeper raised bed filled with lavender, roses and other delights. There is also a decked area with a large array of pots.
This garden is part of the NGS open gardens scheme which I have attended many times throughout the counties. This one in Little Hay has to be at the top of the list for fragrance and visual impact.
RAILWAY SLEEPERS USED
New British Pine railway sleepers
Many thanks for the photos and vivid description of this luscious and spectacular garden. What a wonderful example of a railway sleeper raised bed that is filled to bursting with floral fireworks and sensory explosions!
