Outside the main entrance to the Liverpool Women's Hospital hospital is a sculpture entitled Mother and Child created in 1999 by Terry McDonald, that is is framed by new oak railway sleepers and surrounded by a hundreds of Lavender plants.

A graceful and unique entrance meets any visitor to Liverpool women's hospital. A large bronze statue of a mother and baby is framed by vertically placed oak railway sleepers, set at different levels, and encased in a sea of gorgeous lavender. A wonderful piece of landscaping, and a fitting place for beautiful Bella to be born in the early hours of the 1st October 2015.
