Nice to read a little bit of history behind the railway sleepers! I will have stories to tell people when we gather around the table, once it's finished! The project is still in progress. Cutting those railway sleepers with a handsaw was quite challenging. I made the initial groves with a skill saw, but MOST of the cuts I had to do manually (but I made it!). The real challenge is to find a wood shop that would let me run the railway sleepers through a planer. They often don’t allow reclaimed wood because of potential metal parts inside them. This has stopped me for a while but I will make it, eventually. I take pictures as I go along so I'll definitely send the photos once the table's all done. I've attached a little sneak preview.
