Gary Wardlow's beam from the Nottingham lacemarket

Good Afternoon

A couple of months ago I bought 2 of your beams from the ex lace market. Over the last 2 weeks we finally got round to fitting them. Please find attached photos of the event.

Best regards

Gary Wardlow

Most people would have trembled and given up as madness the idea of fitting a 20 odd foot 12" x 12" beam in a kitchen ceiling. Not to mention that it weighed hundreds of kilos. Not to mention that there was no access into the room other than knocking a hole through the outside wall ! All credit to you. The beams look magnificent. They were originally installed in the Lacemarket in about 1840. Given their size they may have come from trees that were planted in approximately 1690. Amazing !
