Somehow it always seems to come down to digging!
Whatever railway sleeper landscaping you are creating you'll normally find that digging is part of your plans. Whether you are levelling the ground, creating a trench or making a hole for a retaining post or steel H beam project, it's spades, shovels and post holers that are an essential part of your landscaping toolkit. Here are a collection of our digging tools:
1) Hinged double shovel post hole digger, 1500mm, with hickory wooden shaft.
With steel mouth shovel blades hinged in opposition, this tool ensures efficient use of soil removal. The closure stop on the shafts keeps the blade parallel during downward driving into the ground, resulting in a tidy post hole with minimal backfill required. Crafted for durability with a blend of steel and hickory, this post hole digger will create clean and efficient post holes, in the simplest kind of way.
2) Digging fencing grafter 1370mm
A tool with solid forged carbon steel head and steel shaft, that is designed for digging deep holes by breaking through the tough top-soil and stoney sub-soil and leaving it as loose debris, ready to be removed from the hole. Such a hole is perfect for installing vertical railway sleeper posts or steel H beams ready to slot in new or used railway sleepers for retaining walls or aggregate bays.
3) Newcastle Drainer carbon steel, D Grip 1100mm
Another tool in your railway sleeper toolkit that is particularly useful for creating narrow trenches. This helps not only when trying to level garden walls and raised beds that are being built on uneven ground, but also for creating curved or staggered railway sleeper walls that are placed vertically in trenches, and cemented in place with postcrete or similar.
