Yes, that's what our generous customers have donated to the DEC's Ukraine Humanitarian Fund, through their purchase of Ukrainian oak railway sleepers. At the same time they are also supporting an endangered family sawmill in Ukraine that has really struggled during the war, and has had to close several times due to its proximity to Kiev and the Belarus border. Frightening times, but also one where support and generosity shines through. Thanks to you all.

It feels particularly satisfying to see the evolution of a landscaping project. One moment there is a pack of weathered reclaimed railway sleepers sitting patiently on a gravel driveway. The next these have been transformed into dramatic lines of raised beds nestling against the attractive red brickwork of the driveway boundary. These generous formal planters will soon burst into life with flowers and shrubs and provide an eye catching show of colour.

A superbly designed project that has been impressively constructed within the hospital grounds. The oak railway sleepers form mesmerising curved walls that flow around the garden as though they had a life of their own, creating an eye-catching plaque wall and a beautiful tribute to those remembered.

Our customer Peter Goss has run his own successful joinery business in Devon for the last 30 years, employing 13 people. Sadly, ‘Goss Joinery’ has had to make the heartbreaking decision to cease trading in September with Peter being declared bankrupt after a devastating fire swept through his workshops and the Insurance company (NFU) refusing to fully pay out. Peter has lost everything. He has launched an appeal to fight against the decisions that have ended everything he’s worked for, and is crowdfunding to support his legal expenses.
