Bleached by the overpowering sun and pounded by the sea, these ancient weathered railway sleepers look magnificent as they proudly survive against all the elements. Of course they may not be standing there in another fifty years, but for the moment they are fiercely insistent on holding their own, with battered determination, like watchful railway sleeper sentinels.
