POINT LEO'S BEACH WALLS FROM NEW RAILWAY SLEEPERS

Separating miles of sandy beach from the raised scrubby dunes, Point Leo has crisp new railway sleeper walls that look out towards Phillip Island. Naturally named after the first British Governor of New South Wales, Sir Arthur Phillip in 1788, who obviously struggled to pronounce the original Aboriginal island name of Corriong, and clearly preferred his own. Many a peaceful hour can be passed walking next to an isolated expanse of flat rock, seaweed and gentle lapping.
