It is refreshing to see dozens of gnarled and weathered old hardwood railway sleepers marking out parking bays on the wooded seafront along the delightful Mornington peninsular in Australia. They blend in perfectly next to the trees, unlike the normal concrete bollards and metal crash barriers that you see popping up everywhere.
