Here are some progress photos of the first new urban allotments to be built in Glasgow since World War two, using your new railway sleepers. The project was designed by ASSIST Design Ltd and funded by Reidvale Housing Association and Glasgow City Council. The project has had a dramatic impact on the social and visual amenity of the area. The site, Reidvale Gardens, was underused and decayed, a meeting point for gangs and a venue for residents to take their dogs. Each of the six beds is built to varying heights to promote use by all potential users.
