JIM'S SPANISH STEPS - A WELCOME RAILWAY SLEEPER PROJECT FROM DOWN UNDER

We recently had to build some stairs down a large hill (slope 7 mts, height 2.2 mts) (well, big for us), at an outdoor education centre in the country. We used your website as our basis for research and especially took note of 'Hop, Skip and jump's sensory garden' (Picture on your website) as the bank was similar and we liked the garden around it. So off we went. Our slope was also steep at the top and curled oddly at the bottom. We had to cut in the top to start and then do a lot of filling at the bottom to make it appear natural. It worked after Marcus (that's me) and Shane spent four days working on it.

We thought you might like to ad some of the pics to your website. The railway sleepers were filled with pavers and we had to build the hand rails from red wood to keep in with the rest of the property. If you did want to add them to your website can we call the stairs 'Jims Spanish Steps'. It was a bit of a joke for us when building them. The owner (Jim) went out and purchased the timber before consulting us and the step height is 200mm slightly higher than the recommended maximum of 190mm we were advised of. Still he owns them now! Thank you for the help. Great website. P.S. We had never built stairs in our lives before this.
