MANISH'S 'FIRST EVER' RAILWAY SLEEPER TABLE WEIGHS A TON!
A very big thank you to you and your team, who advised a novice in choosing the right railway sleepers for the job. I have attached some photos of the finished bench table, made from nine of your 2.6m new pine railway sleepers. This is the first time I have worked with timber, and foolishly I choose to saw the old fashioned way (hand saw, chisel, hammer & elbow grease), although I have the power tools. This method has given me great satisfaction along with a more toner body!
I have learnt a bit about 'reading' the wood, which should make my next project easier. By the way those Timberlok screws you supplied were magic, no pre-drilling required or splits. You and your team are most welcome to try out the table for dinner any-time, especially when I need to shift the table as it weighs a tonne!! Any way I have to go back to staring at my beautiful first project. Thanks a bunch.
