Great to see the development of James's impressive workshop table for his wife, from the initial cutting and attaching of the different pieces of railway sleeper, to finally seeing the bench in use. A solid and sturdy base to fashion some beautiful jewellery. Whether she creates a spectacular gold leaf Faberge egg encrusted with priceless diamonds and dripping with rubies, or some simple silver earings, your heavy duty jewellery bench will be an inspiration for decades.

No wonder the school was thrilled. You've created an amazing garden full of raised vegetable beds that will inspire a new generation of gardeners and vegetable eaters... (well, here's hoping!). The stacked railway sleepers are at a height that is perfectly inviting for young fingers to learn the earthy delights of planting tomatoes and picking runner beans and collecting slugs and snails! All in all a magical children's project that has been brilliantly constructed by yourselves, and will be the envy of many schools and allotments. Congratulations.

Sometimes when we see someone's beautifully landscaped garden or renovated house, we get overtaken by the excitement of the amazing transformation and forget the arduous process that they've had to go through. The meticulous planning, the gruelling graft, the digging, lifting, shifting, cutting and painstaking journey from chaotic rubble to streamlined new garden. Mike's 'before' photos are a perfect reminder of that tough voyage. A wonderful achievement.

What a lovely patio you are creating. Really wide steps with railway sleepers are so visually appealing, especially when leading to a raised seating area. They give out a generous feeling of space and openness, that invites the viewer to immediately climb the steps and rest those weary legs.
