MICHAEL & LINDSAY BUILD A LOW WALL AROUND THEIR GARDEN WITH OLD TROPICAL HARDWOOD RAILWAY SLEEPERS

These reclaimed tropical hardwood railway sleepers are perfect for building a solid garden wall around your lawn, or creating a weathered boundary edge, that looks as though it has been there for years. Not only do railway sleepers separate the grass from the flower borders or hedge, as well as framing the patio, but they also double up as a endless bench-like seat when the weeding or mowing gets too much and you fancy a rest.

ASTONISHING TRANSFORMATION! Mike's landscaping with new pine railway sleepers

Sometimes when we see someone's beautifully landscaped garden or renovated house, we get overtaken by the excitement of the amazing transformation and forget the arduous process that they've had to go through. The meticulous planning, the gruelling graft, the digging, lifting, shifting, cutting and painstaking journey from chaotic rubble to streamlined new garden. Mike's 'before' photos are a perfect reminder of that tough voyage. A wonderful achievement.

JOCELYN'S INVITING RAILWAY SLEEPER STEPS & PATIO

JOCELYN'S INVITING RAILWAY SLEEPER STEPS & PATIO

What a lovely patio you are creating. Really wide steps with railway sleepers are so visually appealing, especially when leading to a raised seating area. They give out a generous feeling of space and openness, that invites the viewer to immediately climb the steps and rest those weary legs. Alternatively, to try out some new ballroom dancing routine from Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers!

CREATING AN INTIMATE PATIO FRAMED WITH NEW OAK RAILWAY SLEEPERS

What beautifully crafted walls and raised garden beds Pete has made with his new oak railway sleepers. Blended perfectly with the lattice fencing and old brick walls, they create a private and intimate patio area, to enjoy those refreshing jacuzzi soaks or summer barbecues.

SIMPLE YET SUCH A PLEASURE. VEGETABLE BEDS MADE FROM NEW RAILWAY SLEEPERS.

What a lovely and thoughtful thing to do for his elderly father. Dave's raised vegetable beds that he made from new railway sleepers are really simple to construct, and yet the enjoyment they bring, not to mention the unbeatable fresh produce, is a wonderful pleasure that will last for years.

SIMPLY STUNNING. New pine railway sleepers are part of Susie & Rob's gorgeous garden.

Such a beautiful sweeping design, with flowing curves that melt into each other with elegant softness. Beautifully designed and exquisitely built. Pristine new pine railway sleepers are really versatile in highlighting the attractiveness of raised beds, patios and steps on different levels. A stunning garden.

Susie & Rob's tranquil garden with new oak railway sleepers

Many thanks for the photos of Susie & Rob's beautiful garden project. There is a really serene and gentle quality to their creation that is a tribute to both their design and handiwork. The oak railway sleepers provide clear architectural lines, and yet also a natural weathered appearance as they change colour in the summer sunshine. A memorable tranquil garden.

RAILWAY SLEEPERS IN THE ROUGH!

RAILWAY SLEEPERS IN THE ROUGH!

It would be fair to say that most decent golfers don't go scrabbling under bridges in search of their ball. Instead they cheerfully walk down the centre of the fairway, totting up the number of pars they've accumulated, and dreaming of their next birdie. But this is where they miss out.  The more adventurous players explore the extreme edges of each hole, trecking through bushes, ponds and ploughed fields, admiring the natural beauty of unexpected undergrowth, whilst amassing long lost balls. An opportunity to discover the hidden delights of aged railway sleepers, and plan your next landscaping project. It may not help you in your quest to break 100 shots, but it may sweeten the pain of the eye watering club membership fee, as you sit contentedly in your newly designed garden.

STEVE'S WALL WITH RSJ BEAMS & AFRICAN AZOBE RAILWAY SLEEPERS

22 April 2022 / Posted in: Railway Sleeper News

STEVE'S WALL WITH RSJ BEAMS & AFRICAN AZOBE RAILWAY SLEEPERS

What an impressive railway sleeper construction. The sheer graft of digging into and terracing the slope, clearing and levelling tons of soil, boring holes for the steel beams, and installing 60 tons of tropical hardwood railway sleepers is a fantastic feat. Whether you call them steel beams, RSJs or I or H beams, they are a very strong and efficient way of building a retaining wall, and when matched with the amazingly durable African Azobe railway sleepers, they create a really tough and long lasting wall that should proudly stand the test of time. All credit to you.
